Pomp & Circumstance - Stampin' Addicts Occasions Catalog Blog Hop

http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums/forum.php
Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Occasions Catalog Blog Hop - the Occasions Catalog starts today and we're excited to share with you some ideas and projects using several of the new stamp sets, papers and embellishments from this beautiful new mini catalog from Stampin' Up!
One of these new stamp sets is the Pomp and  Circumstance stamp set, a graduation set with 6 images, including some all purpose graduation images/sentiments and some silly pun style images/sentiments. I'm excited to share just a couple of quick projects using this stamp set.

The first two items I want to share are practical items for a Graduation party. I made these really quick Cookie Boxes with the Decorative Window Boxes and the Angled Tag Topper Punch, both from the Occasions Catalog. This sentiment from Pomp and Circumstance is stamped in Basic Black Craft Ink and Heat Embossed with Black Embossing Powder onto the Brushed Gold cardstock. The tag is finished with a Basic Black Chevron Ribbon tie at the top and a narrow strip of Basic Black cardstock along the bottom. Super quick and super cute - just the way you want it when preparing multiple items!
Here is my second practical item for your graduation party - Sandwich Bags using the Tag A Bag Gift Bags (from the regular Stampin' Up! catalog) and the Angled Tag Topper Punch (from the Occasions Catalog.)  I masked a portion of the same sentiment on this tag and again Heat Embossed with Black Craft and Black Embossing Powder. I also stamped the congratulations sentiment along the edge of the bag and wrapped it with a belly band of Basic Black cardstock die cut with the Tasteful Trim XL Die for the Big Shot.

Finally, I made a few cards - also fairly quick and easy ones. This card features the cap and tassel image stamped in Gold Encore ink and Heat Embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The congratulations sentiment is also stamped and embossed in Gold. I used Gold Foil Cardstock to die cut the 2014 with the Typeset Alphabet Bigz die and also for the texture embossed strip using the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The tassel images fits perfectly in the Oval Punch or the smallest Oval Die for the Big Shot. Instead of layering this piece, I swiped the edges of the die cut piece with Gold Encore ink. I also textured embossed the top of the card with the Stripes Textured Impression Embossing Folder. The Basic Black card front is mounted onto a cardbase of Brushed Gold cardstock. I really like all the different golds on this card.
And what is the number one graduation gift - CASH of course! This Wallet Style Gift Card fits into a legal size envelope and features a handy pocket on the inside to give your gift of money for the new graduate. I stamped on the Brushed Silver Cardstock with a few of the images from Pomp and Circumstance stamp set in VersaMark ink and Heat Embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment and cap/tassel images are both Heat Embossed as well, with Basic Black Craft Ink and Black Embossing Powder. The belly band for this card is as simple as a narrow strip of Brushed Silver cardstock layered with a piece of Basic Black Cardstock which is die cut with the Tasteful Trim XL die. Next week I will post a few more pictures of this card, including the cutting and scoring dimensions for the pocket - you will love how quick and easy it is!

Black and Gold. I like it. I'm usually a silver girl, but I like the black, gold, and kraft. So very cool.
