Strengh & Hope - last chance to buy this set!

This is a card we made at a Stamp Camp a few months ago with the Stampin' Up! Strength & Hope set, a portion of the proceeds of this set goes to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This stamp set in only available until August 31st, so you better get your set today!! For more details about this special stamp set and the Making a Difference program from Stampin' Up! check out this Strength & Hope video.

I did a modified Rock n Roll technique with the butterfly by inking the image in Daffodil Delight ink and then sponging on Rose Red color on the edges with a Sponge Dauber. The sponging, instead of directly applying the ink, softens the edges of color a bit. The butterfly is cut out and adhered to the main panel in the center only, to give a bit of lift to the wings.

Recipe:
Stamp: Strength & Hope
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Rose Red
Cardstock: Sweet & Sour DSP (retired), First Edition DSP, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon (retired), Rhinestone Jewels

Delicate Doilies - Black, White and Melon

Here is a card I made using the Delicate Doilies stamp set, new in the most recent Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. I stamped several of the doilies in StazOn Jet Black randomly on a piece of Glossy White cardstock. Then I stamped the largest doilie in Whisper White Craft ink onto the Basic Black card base. Both of the these require a bit of drying time and careful handling to avoid smudging and smearing.

I added a pop of color with the Melon Mambo mat and the Lace Ribbon Border Punch - isn't that new Lace Ribbon punch pretty?! It's a new border punch in this Idea Book & Catalog as well. A bow tie in Basic Black Satin Ribbon and a Medium Jewelery tag punch with the friends sentiment just to finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Delicate Doilies
Cardstock: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Glossy White
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Rhinestones, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Medium Jewelry Punch

Always Thankful - 2011 Holiday Mini - bushel of pears

Here is another card using the soon to be release set from Stampin' Up!, Always Thankful. I used a color challenge from Stampin' Addicts - Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede. I love this bushel of pears image and just need to practice my coloring to get some highlights and shading down.

Here's a closer look at the pears in the basket here - can you see the shimmer of Crystal Effects? I added a dab of Crystal Effects to each piece of fruit and I just love the look it gives in real life!

Recipe:
Stamps: Always Thankful
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, assorted markers
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Texture Embossing Folder, Brads

The Sounding Joy in Marina and Wisteria

Here is another new set from Stampin' Up - The Sounding Joy - which will debut in the Holiday Mini Catalog on Sept 1st. I have done several cards with this set and just love the beautiful script! I paired it with the background stamp, En Francais, here. The JOY image is stamped in VersaMark ink and Concord Crush ink, then heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder to give it a beautiful sparkle!

Here's a closer look at the embossing, although it's hard to capture in a photograph. I used a Mojo Monday sketch challenge for this card layout. The ribbon is Very Vanilla Satin, with the tip cut and then barely melted to keep it from fraying. Also, you can see the beautiful texture of the new embossing folder, Snow Swirled, from the Holiday Mini Catalog as well.

Recipe:
Stamps: The Sounding Joy, En Francais
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, Very Vanilla
Ink: VersaMark, Concord Crush, Marina Mist
Accessories: Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Snow Swirled Texture Embossing Folder, Circles Die, 2" Circle Punch

Always Thankful - 2011 Holiday Mini - wheelbarrow

Here's a card using a brand new set, Always Thankful, from Stampin' Up! which will debut September 1st with the new Holiday Mini Catalog. I also used a Sketch Challenge and Color Challenge from Stampin' Addicts here.

Coloring is just not my favorite and I've never gotten very good at it. I need a marker coloring class! I added several layers of marker colors to this image, then covered all the items in the wheelbarrow - pumpkins, squash, corn, flowers - with Dazzling Details. Dazzling Details is a sparkly accent that will be available in the new Holiday Mini Catalog as well - and I love it!

Here's a closer look at the Dazzling Details. It give a little dimension and translucent sparkle to whatever you cover. I added some dabs directly from the bottle and then spread it around the colored image with the rounded tip.

Recipe:
Stamps: Always Thankful
Cardstock: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, assorted markers
Accessories: Tulip Border Texture Embossing Folder, Dazzling Details, Buttons, Decorative Label Punch

SCRAP51 Theme - GO BIG - Scrapbook Page

Here's another Scrapbook page for the Stampin' Addicts Theme Challenge 51 - GO BIG OR GO HOME - to scrap a page using a single large photo or with a smaller photo as an accessory. I hope you create some pages this week, too - be sure to let me know!

This is an 8x10 photo of my daughter that I cropped to 8x8. I added a smaller photo of her as a tag accessory with the event and date 'clipped' on. The title is all from my Big Shot and I added some texture to the larger letters with VersaMark stamping and highlights with a Signo White Gel Pen.
