Congratulations Wedding - Happy Congratulations

I've had fun playing with this versatile Happy Congratulations stamp set from the Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up! The Congratulations sentiment from this stamp set is a beautiful font and works well for this wedding card. I combined the Brushed Gold Metallic cardstock with the Gold Foil cardstock with Gold Embossing Powder and Very Vanilla to create an elegant and luxurious combination. Finished with just a few Pearl Jewels, I think this is a great wedding Card.

Do you recognize some of these Big Shot shapes? The Brushed Gold Metallic mat is embossed with the Tulip Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Gold Foil cardstock is die cut with the heart and the arrows from the Circle Thinlits die. And the Very Vanilla frame and center elements are die cut with a piece from the On Film Framelit. I trimmed a little off the edges of the center element to create another layer to the mat, before I stamped the lantern string in Gold Encore ink. This is then Heat Embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. The inside liner is also stamped and embossed in Gold.

You're Lovely stamp set - Sale-A-Bration for just a few more weeks!

I used the FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set, You're Lovely, to make both these cards. The beautiful images in this stamp set coordinate with our Decor Label Framelits, and I love how easy it is to die cut these stamped images!

For the background of both these cards, I stamped the vine image from Thoughts & Prayers stamp set in Early Espresso ink onto the Early Espresso cardstock. Then I Heat Embossed them in Clear Embossing Powder. LOVE! The main sentiments from You're Lovely stamp set are also embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, what a finishing touch  Heat Embossing can be.

I added just a touch of color to the flowers with a Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral marker. The Baker's Twine here is also a FREE Sale-A-Bration item, one of three spools in the Sweet Sorbet Accessories Pack.

Recipe:
Stamps: You're Lovely, Thoughts & Prayers
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Accessories: Decor Label Framelits, Clear EP, Sweet Sorbet Accessories Pack

Don't forget that you only have until March 31st to place a qualifying order and earn FREE Sale-A-Bration items!

Stamp Review Crew: Open Sea Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2014/03/stamp-review-crew-open-sea-edition.html
This edition of the Stamp Review Crew features The Open Sea stamp set, which is hands down my favorite masculine stamp set in the catalog!

This monochromatic card features the Starburst Technique with the Modern Medley DSP. It's kind of funny to me to have such muted colors with a technique that is associated with bright and bold. I also used the sentiment from Happy Congratulations stamp set "may happiness be your destination" which seems so perfect for this ship image.

Recipe:
Stamps: Open Sea, Happy Congratulations
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Modern Medley DSP
Accessories: Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon, Circle Punches

I used a Crystal Effects Canvas Technique on my second card with The Open Sea stamp set. I stamped a collage of the images on Whisper White cardstock. Then I poured some Crystal Effects over the entire piece and pulled it to the side with an old toothbrush. This creates a pretty brush stroke look to the images and it also adds a bit of shine.

Then I added a cut strip of Burlap Ribbon, with the edges frayed, and a few Antique Brads. The other layers on this card are distressed with our Distressing Tool, which makes quick work roughing up all the edges.

Crystal Effects Technique - Happy Congratulations

One of my favorite stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up! is this little set called Happy Congratulations. It has a fun paper lantern banner, but for this card, I chose to substitute flowers for the paper lanterns. I've mentioned before how much I love the sentiment in this set - May happiness be your destination.
For the background texture on this card, I used the Crystal Effects Canvas Technique. I added a dollop of Crystal Effects and then spread it across the cardstock with an old toothbrush. This creates a beautiful canvas style texture as well as a great shine. You can see the texture a little more clearly in the close-up picture above.

I punched out several flowers using both the smaller flowers from the Boho Blossom Punch and the two flowers from the Itty Bitty Punches. I rolled the edges of the flowers and used the larger ones on the lantern string. The smaller flowers were scattered across the card and into the inside liner as well. All of the flowers have a Jewel Pearl center, too.

You're Lovely - Sale-A-Bration stamp set

I just inked up my You're Lovely stamp set this week. Well, technically, I used one of the small sentiments, Live Happy, from this stamp set a few weeks ago to create a little gift tag. However, this was my first time REALLY using this stamp set. You're Lovely is one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp sets that you can earn with a qualifying order. Remember that SAB ends this month, so be sure to place your order!

I CASE'd myself for this card, remember that girlie card I made using the Dude, You're Welcome stamp set a few weeks ago? I love the Paper Doilie layer and the Heated Ribbon Technique on that card, so I made a few more using the You're Lovely stamp set instead. This is the same layout as the original card, but I used Basic Gray instead of Soft Suede as a card base. I added just a touch of Blushing Bride color to the flowers of this beautiful image and punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. This is layered onto a circle mat die cut from Blushing Bride cardstock and finished with some glitter and a few tiny Pearl Jewels.

 Recipe:
Stamps: You're Lovely
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Blushing Bride (marker)
Accessories: Pink Pirouette Taffeta Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Pearl Jewels, Paper Doilies, Modern Label and 1 3/4" Circle Punches, Circle Framelits

The March issue of Paper Crafters Sampler is all about Easter with a Rejoice! theme. This beautiful issue offers project ideas for a memorable Easter season.  The projects this month are 'eggcellent.  Inside you'll find Easter-themed greeting cards, a mini spring flip-flop album, an elegant Easter daffodil suite to stuff with goodies and much more. This months template is the Bunny Weathervane,  a great idea for your Easter table centerpiece.

Here's a sneak peek of my project, a mini scrapbook album just perfect for your Easter photos! I used the beautiful Sale-A-Bration items, Sweet Sorbet DSP and Sweet Sorbet Accessories. This is a Flip Flop Album, so it has some really fun interactive features and lots of place to put photos and journaling, all tied up in a table top mini album.

Stamp Review Crew: Happy Congratulations Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2014/03/stamp-review-crew-bonus-edition-happy.html

Welcome to a Bonus Blog Hop from the Stamp Review Crew, it's the Happy Congratulations Edition, featuring one of my favorite sets from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog. Happy Congratulations is a fun, light hearted set with just four images, two sentiments and two images to create a paper lantern banner.

Happy Congratulations with its banner and celebratory sentiments is a versatile stamp set and can be used for many different occasions. This Red, White and Blue card could be a birthday card, a Fourth of July invitation or even a graduation card, if your school has the same colors as my kids! I added a lot of sparkle to this card by Heat Embossing the background lantern string in Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, as well as adding Dazzling Detail to the paper lanterns on the tag element and finishing the ribbon tie with a Glimmer Brad.

Recipe:
Stamps: Happy Congratulations, Seasonal Sayings
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse,
Whisper White

Ink: Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White Craft
Accessories: Angle Tag Topper Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Dazzling Details, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, White Embossing Powder, Glimmer Brads Brights, Midnight Muse Satin Stitched Ribbon, White Baker's Twine

Happy Congratulations is a stamp set that is versatile to many different styles as well. This Congratulations card is stamped in a shabby chic style with lots of layers and sponging. I stamped the paper lanterns onto a piece of pattern paper from Modern Medley DSP and then punched them out, added some sponging and lot of crinkled distressing. Each of the lanterns are also finished with a swipe of Dazzling Detail. I stamped the lantern string image across all the layers on the card and then adhered the lanterns passing in and out of the frame element.

Recipe:
Stamps: Happy Congratulations, En Francais background
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Crisp Cantaloupe, Very Vanilla, Modern Medley DSP, In Color DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Crisp Cantaloupe
Accessories: Deco Labels Thinlets, 3/4" Circle Punch, Rhinestone Jewels, Dazzling Details, Paper Doilies

The main reason I purchased the Happy Congratulations stamp set is this beautiful sentiment image - May happiness be your destination. Love! I stamped the sentiment onto a banner here and used it for the Gift Tag on this fun Gift Bag from the February Paper Pumpkin kit. The Felt Ball Banner and Linen Thread are from one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration items you can choose with a qualifying order. (Don't forget SAB ends on March 31st!)

Recipe:
Stamps: Happy Congratulations
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Whisper White
Ink: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Accessories: Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack, Heartfelt Banner Kit, Chevron TIEF

Stampin' Addicts Hidden Treasures Blog Hop

http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums
Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Hidden Treasures Blog Hop, featuring several Stampin' Up! items that are currently available to order but are not listed in any of our print catalogs. You will love the ideas here and are sure to find some Hidden Treasures that you didn't even know we have!

I'm featuring the Dude, You're Welcome! kit from Stampin' Up! This kit (#132807) is designed for the novice stamper and includes:

* Four wood-mount stamps (double-mounted) with the perfect sentiment for every occasion

“#%&@!” “I _____ You”
“Thank You”
and
"Special Occasion"

  * Twelve 4" x 6" postcards in four different (manly) colors
* Twelve gray envelopes
* A Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad
* An instructional guide
(for the most novice stamper!)

Although this kit is designed for the man in your life, I have found I like using these sentiments and postcards to make feminine cards as well. The quality and weight of the pattern paper in this kit is very nice, they truly are postcards with 3 different patterns in 4 different colors.

This first card is a simple postcard style card using one of the Crumb Cake postcards from the kit. I stamped the "Thank You" sentiment in Midnight Muse Ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and trimmed it to fit on the Apothecary Accents die cut. Two Antique Brads to anchor it and I have a card that is perfect for any man (or woman!) in your life. Notice the rough edges and break in the letter 'O' that is part of the design of this stamp.

Remember that these postcards are very heavy weight cardstock and are a 4x6 size, so the cards and the envelopes are larger and slightly different dimension than a typical Stampin' Up! card (which is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".)

Here is another postcard style card I made, using a Sahara Sand postcard from the kit. I stamped the sentiment 'Special Occasions' in Gumball Green ink and then trimmed it with scissors. The pattern paper here is from the Sale-A-Bration Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. I wrapped it with the Summer Starfruit Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessories Pack. Again, this is a card you could give to a birthday man or woman.
Another stamp in this set is "I __ You" designed for you to fill in the blank. I added a die cut and embossed Heart to this sentiment for this girly card. I also used a Circle Punch with the "Special Occasion" starburst stamp. I love the Vanilla patterned postcard from the kit and trimmed it to fit a mat on a standard sized card. This postcard layer is also distressed with the Distressing Tool and then layered with a Paper Doilie and lots of Jewel Pearls.

And finally, I used the “#%&@!” stamp on this Gift Bag from the February Paper Pumpkin kit (another Hidden Treasure!) The Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription that delivers a boxed project each month with stamps, a mini ink pad and all the accessories needed to created beautiful 3d projects and cards. The February kit included these beautiful Gift Bags, the Mini Clothespins, Bermuda Bay Circles and White Starbursts, as well as the punch out Letters, White Ribbon and Summer Starfruit Baker's Twine.

A sweet friend is celebrating one of those BIG ONES, a birthday with a ZERO on the end. I just laugh at the strip of cuss words along the bottom of this gift bag. Paired with the beautiful Bermuda Bay and Pistachio Pudding inks, the feminine Paper Doilie and the banner, it makes me smile. I'm looking forward to giving this to her!
