Bikini Top and Bottom card

This is a fun, silly card that has made its rounds for several years. I originally saw it on Stamp Owl's blog in 2008 and use her template for the bra and panties. This shaped card is a front/back card- the front of the card is the bra top and the back is the pantie bottom.

I had a friend ask for this for her husband's 30th birthday. I used a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock for the base and a piece of Real Red paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper Pack. A little black ribbon ruffled around the edges, a tiny black flower from Itty Bitty Punches and finished with a Pearl.

For the inside of the card I embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment from Curly Cute in Basic Black Craft ink and Clear Embossing Powder, then added the SWAK stamp in Real Red to 'seal it'.

Gnome Sweet Gnome - Hangin with my gnomies

Okay, even if Gnomes aren't your 'thing' or your style, don't these guys just make you SMILE?! sometimes? even a little?! This card makes me smile!  I used the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set from the new Occasions Mini Catalog and Masked a few boys together, arm in arm, and then Watercolored them with an AquaPainter and several Markers. I have better results with Water Color Paper when I use the AquaPainter to blend. Stampin' Up!'s Water Color Paper is a 140 lb Cold Press in 6 x 9 sheets of 100% cotton.

Gift Card Pocket Card - Fresh Vintage

Here's another card I made with Cork, this time using the Beautiful Butterflies die with the Big Shot. And I stamped on it with the largest image from Fresh Vintage (FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set choice) and added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter as well. This is also a Pocket Card that is sized just right to hold a Gift Card.

Here's a closer look at the butterfly. I stamped the flourish image from Fresh Vintage in Melon Mambo ink (because the cork dulls the ink so much I went with the brightest ink.) Then I ran the cork through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die and finally, I added a little Two Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Three Pearls create an elegant body for this butterfly.

To create a Pocket Card, simply cut an 8 1/2 x11 piece of cardstock vertically to get a 4 1/4 x 11 card base. Then score this at 1 1/2" and at 7". Fold on the score lines and adhere the outside edges of the smaller score piece to create the pocket. I layered the Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake cardstock over the front flap to hang nearly to the bottom of the card. You can see a Starbucks gift card tucked in the pocket in the picture of the inside below.

**Remember, during Sale-A-Bration, you get to choose FREE SAB product for every $50 you spend. Even more FREE product when you Host a workshop. FREE product for the rest of the year when you join Stampin' Up!**

Vinyl in the Big Shot - Personalized Cups

This is one of the projects we'll be making at a So You Want To Be a Big Shot classes. This Big Shot class is all about using this phenomenal machine, the Sandwiches, the Dies, the Embossing, with Cardstock, with Fabric, with Vinyl, with several materials. I have three cups to show you - a cute, whimsical one with butterflies die cut from Chocolate Chip Decor Elements, a more conservative monogram cup with Chocolate Chip Decor Elements, and a fun, Valentine's cup with Chalkboard Vinyl.
I die cut a few hearts from the Chalkboard Decor Elements sheets using the Hearts Framelits die from the new Occasions Mini Catalog. Before applying them to the mug, I first cleaned it with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils, dirt, etc. Then I transferred the die cuts to the Decor Elements Transfer Sheets that come with the vinyl, peeled the backing and applied the die cuts to the mug. Then my daughter promptly wrote on them! She had to check out the Chalkboard Element! Here are a couple of views of the hearts, the chalkboard vinyl and her notes.

For the next two mugs, I followed the same process as above, only using the Chocolate Chip Decor Elements Sheets. I die cut the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits and the monogram is from the Simple Serif Bigz dies. For all of these mugs, you'll want to hand wash, the vinyl won't last if you put them in the dish washer.

THIS YEAR - a Scrapbook Theme Challenge - SASCRAP68

Here is my page for the January Stampin' Addicts Theme Challenge SASCRAP68 - It's a NEW YEAR - Goals, Resolutions and Gratitude.  I love the fresh start and new dreams of a New Year - create a page that you love! My family did a Personal Plans type page. You could make a Gratitude inspired page as well, naming those things for which you are grateful this year.

I gave each of my people a strip of Whisper White Cardstock and a Journaling Pen and asked them to write their name, age and a word to describe the plans they have for 2012. The discussion that followed was fun, too. I love the thoughtfulness and different approach that everyone had. What a reflection of each of their personalities! So this page is a quick moment of time where each of us is looking ahead and making plans for what we see for ourselves in 2012. I think the banners are a little stark on this page, but I wanted everyone's personal writing captured, too.

My oldest son is a sophomore in high school and really thinking about college and grades and baseball. It's also finals week, so he's really thinking about school and plans for college. My daughter also had finals this week, but she's more relaxed and is really looking forward to the rest of high school. My youngest son takes a short view and is in the middle of basketball season, so he wants to spend more time shooting baskets. My husband and I are past those worries and now think about living well, living happy and being healthy. He was pretty happy with his play on words :)  Health=Wealth

For my layout, I used the awesome SA67 Sketch Challenge for this month. The title THIS YEAR is Black Craft ink embossed in Clear Embossing Powder using Spencerian Alphabet Upper and Spencerian Alphabet Lower. The 2012 at the top is die cute using the Timeless Type Alphabet Sizzlits. The ball embellishment and stamped crystals are from My Friend stamp set, one embossed in Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and the others covered in Crystal Effects.

Go and Create! And be sure to Share!

Owl Builder Punch with Cork - Loving Thoughts

How cute is this scholarly Owl?! This is made with the Owl Builder Punch from Stampin' Up! and I punched it out of Cork Adhesive Shelf Liner. (This is not the Cork that Stampin' Up! carries - it is much thicker and works in the Big Shot, but not with punches.) I added the sentiment from Loving Thoughts, one of the new sets in the Occasions Mini Catalog that just started last week.

Here's a closer look at the owl, I used the cork for his eyes, too and added a narrow strip of Black card stock behind the largest eye circle to mimic glasses.  The tiny Basic Gray circles on his Black vest are from the same punch. The branch he is perched on is from the Bird Builder punch. I added another narrow strip of Cork to the card front and wrapped the sentiment strip around it with some small Black Brads.

For the inside, I die cut some of the cork with the Alphabet Simple Numbers for the Big Shot and counted 1,2,3 across the Very Vanilla liner.

Recipe:
Stamps: Loving Thoughts
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Brights DSP
Ink: StazOn Jet Black
Accessories: 2 1/2" Circle, Owl Builder and Bird Builder Punches, Brads, Alphabet Simple Numbers

Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peek - Outlined Occasions

Here's another Sneak Peek at one of the exclusive Sale-A-Bration sets called Outlined Occasions. This card also features a bit of the Calypso Coral Ribbon from the SAB exclusive Everyday Enchantment Ribbons and Brads. Either of these products are yours to choose for FREE during Sale-A-Bration with every $50 order. Sale-A-Bration starts January 24th this year and remember you get to choose one free SAB product for every $50 you spend. Host a workshop during SAB for even more free product. Join Stampin' Up! during SAB for free product for the next year!

I think there are a few elements on this card that really make it pop as a CELEBRATE card. The vertical score lines that I added with the Simply Score Tool grounds the image, without taking away from the pop of color. But I especially love how simply adding a few colorful flowers from the Itty Bitty Punch, with Pearl centers naturally, really makes it a 'happy' card. To illustrate the difference the flowers make, look at this same card without the flower punches.

Recipe:
Stamp: Outlined Occasions
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla, Flirtatious DSP
Ink: Poppy Parade, StazOn Jet Black
Accessories: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Everyday Enchantment Ribbons and Brads pack, Itty Bitty Punches, Pearl Jewels

Gnome Sweet Gnome - you light up my lawn!

How much fun is this stamp set Gnome Sweet Gnome from Stampin' Up!?! This is one of the new stamp sets in the Occasions Mini Catalog that just debuted January 4th. I think the images in this set are just cute and kinda kitschy and the sentiments included are so fun as well as even more 'punny' sentiments in the companion set Gnomenclature. Gnomenclature includes 'gnome peeking', 'hangin' with my gnomies', 'there's no place like gnome', and 'to gnome you is to love you.' They make me smile and I love them for that!

What is your favorite stamp set this week? Is it cute? Kitschy? Elegant? Vintage? My favorite stamps change by the week and sometimes even daily! :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Gnome Sweet Gnome
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Going Grey, Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, assorted Markers
Accessories: Finial Press and Stripes Texture Embossing Folders, 2 1/2" Circle, Word Window and Modern Label Punches, Not Quite Navy Taffeta Ribbon
