Masculine Birthday Card - Countryside and Canvas

Here is a man's birthday card - not always the easiest to create for us stampers. I used a few new items from the Spring Occasions Catalog, too. I stamped the truck from Countryside onto Watercolor Paper with Black Craft ink and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I watercolored the image with Markers and an AquaPainter.

Here's a closeup of the canvas stamped banner. I cut a narrow strip of the Canvas Paper and then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on it in Jet Black StazOn. Then put a Crumb Cake Marker in the Spritzing Tool and gave it a little marker splatter. I frayed the edges and adhere it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. What other new items do you see here - the arrow Clip (so fun!) and just a few strips of Parker's Patterns DSP.

Perfect Day - From My Heart with Flower Trim

The beautiful Flower Trim from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog is getting a lot of love at my house! This card is quick and easy and the Flower Trim over the Baja Breeze bow is just the right finishing touch.

I embossed the Primrose Petals cardstock with the Honeycomb folder and then layered a few strips of Natural Composition Specialty DSP . This is a heavy weight designer series paper with embossed images - tone on tone - to create a beautiful, easy to use pattern paper. I used one of the large sentiment images in the From My Heart stamp set. This is stamped on So Saffron cardstock and then die cut in the Big Shot with the Labels Collection Framelits. A pretty bow of the Baja Breeze Seam Binding is wrapped with a few flowers.

Hexagon Birthday - Kids Card

honeycomb folder, hexagon, kids birthday, sale-a-brationHere's a bright and cheerful birthday card using the new Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Occasions Catalog by Stampin' Up! I also used some of the FREE Sale-A-Bration ribbon from the Sycamore Street Bundle on this card. Just one sentiment on the front of this card and another on this inside - the rest of the card is carried by the textures, fun shape and bright colors.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the From My Heart stamp set in Pacific Point ink on the Old Olive cardstock layer. This is heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder to give it a beautiful shine and a little more pop.

Collage Curios - Soda Pop Tops

This is a card layout that I've seen a lot and I had fun adapting it to this Collage Curios stamp set with its small images. I also used the new Soda Pop Tops from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog. There are two sizes of these, the larger Pop Top (filled with a 1" Circle Punch) is shown on this card and you can see the smaller Pop Top (filled with 1/2" Circle Punch) below in one of the close-up photos.

The Soda Pop Tops are a very thick embellishment, but I flattened them simply by running them through the Big Shot between the Cutting Plates, with the Multi Purpose Platform opened to no Tabs. You can flatten several at a time. You can also punch a threading hole with the Crop A Dile or with the Hand Held Punch, either before or after flattening them. I colored the Pearls with a Brown Sharpie for these flower centers shown in this close-up photo.

Another technique I used on this card is Selective Embossing with the Big Shot and the new Hexagon Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF.) This Embossing Folder is a full card front embossing folder, but I only wanted a strip of the embossing for this card. I cut a 3/4" strip of heavy weight chipboard (from the Glimmer Paper Packs) - if you don't have thick chipboard, just cut a few strips and adhere together to increase their thickness. This strip is stuck to the back of the TIEF with a small piece of adhesive, just enough to hold it in place. Then place your cardstock inside the folder and use only the top cutting pad to run it through the Big Shot. My chipboard was very thick, so it replaced the bottom cutting plate. You can play with the pressure by using no tabs or Tab 2 on the Multi Purpose Platform to get the embossing texture you'd like. By adhering the chipboard strip to the folder, it stays in place just where you want it each time. You can use this Selective Embossing Technique with any shape, such as Ovals, Hearts, Circles, etc.

Love Card - Artisan Embellishment Kit

Oooh - how about the Artisan Embellishments Kit in the Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up! Such pretties! I'm tempted to hoard these embellishments, but made myself put some together this afternoon and I'm so happy I did! Even my daughter liked this card and she's not usually giving my stampin' much love ;)

Almost all of the embellishments on this card are from the Artisan Embellishments Kit, I added Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon and Pearls, a LOT of pearls! Look in the Lace and you'll see several of the teeny tiny Pearls there, too.

And that Hearts topped tag? It's from the Artisan Embellishments Kit, too! It is Crumb Cake on one side and Whisper White on the other with the laser cut hearts along the top. There are two of these Designer Heart Tags in the kit and they come wrapped with 4 different trims - the Wide Scallop Lace, a Narrow Lace, Primrose Petals Lace and Primrose Petals Seam Binding. The LOVE Ticket is one of four that is included in the kit, as well as the Clear Faceted Button at the center of the ribbon knot.

 Recipe:
Stamps: Seasonal Sayings
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Accessories: Artisan Embellishments Kit, Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Pearls, Linen Thread, Lacy Brocade TIEF

Leopard Print Rolodex Calendar

Here's a custom designed Birthday Calendar Rolodex I made using a leopard print paper, overstamped with Gold Embossing Powder. All the other stamped sentiments are stamped in Black Craft Ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I also added some Rhinestone Jewels which are colored with a green sharpie to coordinate and add more bling.

All Dressed Up - with Flower Trim

This card uses the Dress Up Framelits and the All Dressed Up stamp set from the Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up! This stamp set and framelit jumped out to me from the Occasions Catalog because they are different from any sets I have. The Dress Up Framelits can be used alone or with the coordinating All Dressed Up stamp set or all three together with the Dress Form Pop N Cuts to create a pop up card.

I cut the Ovals with the Ovals Framelits in the Occasions Catalog and then ran the Pool Party oval through the Big Shot again in an inked up Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I rolled Pool Party ink onto one side of the TIEF and placed the Pool Party cardstock on the other side, folded it over and ran it through the Big Shot to create the shadowed stripes. Then I spritzed it with Shimmer Paint mixed with Rubbing Alcohol to give it a pretty shine and just a touch of shimmer. I couldn't decide what ribbon to use with the flowers from the Flower Trim and made a few cards with the Calypso Coral Baker's Twine and a few cards with this striped White Taffeta - I just ran the Pool Party Marker down the middle of the White Taffeta Ribbon to create the coordinating stripe.

Recipe:
Stamps: All Dressed up, Established Elegance
Inks: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Accessories: Dress Up Framelits, Ovals Framelits, Stripes TIEF, Flower Trim, Calypso Coral Baker's Twine or White Taffeta Ribbon striped with a Pool Party Marker
