Layered Clock

Here is a card I made using the Sense of Time stamp set from Stampin' Up! I just love clocks and clock images - I still have the retired clock sets from Stampin' Up! I don't use them much, but just can't let them go.

The clock image is stamped off the edge of the So Saffron main panel in Close to Cocoa ink. Then the gears image is randomly stamped in So Saffron ink all over. I stamped one of the sentiments from Sense of Time along the side in Close to Cocoa ink. I used the (often neglected) Spiral Punch along the edge of the So Saffron panel and then roughed it up a little. And how yummy are these Chocolate Chip Corduroy buttons?! I used a thin little strip of Rose Red cardstock for the faux thread in the lower right button - no nekkid buttons!

Inside: (bad photo, needs some color correction - this really is a Certainly Celery base - not Sage Shadow!)

Recipe:
Stamps: Sense of Time
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Lavender Lace, So Saffron
Ink: Close to Cocoa, So Saffron
Accessories: Rose Red 1 1/4" Double Stitch Grosgrain, Chocolate Chip Corduroy Buttons, Spiral Edge Punch

White Carmel Corn

White Carmel Corn

If I don't serve this at Scrap Class I hear about it! I honestly think a couple of ladies are more inspired to attend for the carmel corn than my scrap pages! Who am I kidding?! I love it, too!

White Carmel Corn

Ingredients:
1 c Butter
1 t Salt
½ c Corn syrup
2 c Brown Sugar
1 t Baking Soda
1 t vanilla
½ pk Vanilla Almond Bark

Directions:
Melt butter in pan. Stir in sugar and corn syrup and salt. Stir constantly and bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla (carefully) and baking soda. Place 2 batches of air popped popcorn in a large paper bag. Pour carmel over. Roll top and shake well. Microwave 3 minutes. Shake bag well every 1 minutes. Tear bag open and cool. Use wooden spoon to scrape carmel from bag.

Melt ½ package of Vanilla Almond Bark. Return cooled carmel corn to a clean paper grocery bag. Pour melted almond bark over. Roll top and shake well to coat. Pour onto waxed paper to separate and cool.

Store leftovers in airtight container. (as if!)

Fresh Cuts Sympathy

Here is another Sympathy card I stamped this month. This one uses the Fresh Cuts stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I stamped the main image from Fresh Cuts in Old Olive ink onto a piece of Textured Very Vanilla Cardstock. This is layered onto a mat of Old Olive cardstock. I wrapped a small piece of Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon around the corner and knotted it. I just love our Taffeta Ribbons - so soft and pretty in each of the colors. I stamped 'I'm so sorry' sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto the strip of Regal Rose cardstock and underlined it with two Vanilla half back pearls from the Pretties Kit. The top left corner has a Photo Corner Punch of Regal Rose tucked under the edge of the main image.

Recipe:
Stamps: Fresh Cuts, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive, Very Vanilla Textured
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Pretties Kit, Photo Corner Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Christmas Post

Here is another quick and easy Christmas Card. This uses the postmark stamp from Winter Post stamp set and the santa postage stamp from Christmas Punch. The Santa postage is stamped onto Kraft cardstock and punched out with the Square Scallop Punch. All images are stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink. The Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon is knotted and wrapped over a strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

I love the color combination of Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry. Who am I kidding?! I just love Rich Razzleberry with anything!

Birthday Cupcakes

Here is the card I stamped as my 'thank you' card for all my customers who placed a Stampin' Up! order with me in October. I also stamped another 14 of these cards for a swap with my friends and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators on Stamp Addicts - a website forum and gallery showcasing Stampin' Up! stamps and products.

This little cupcake image is from Voila! - a chef stamp set. I stamped the cakes in Jet Black StazOn ink onto Whisper White card stock. I added some color with my Stampin' Up! Markers - Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red and Summer Sun. Then I used the 1 1/4" Circle Punch to punch them all out. I added some glue with my Two Way Glue Pen to the candle flame and covered it with the White Chunky Glitter. This is layered onto a Rose Red mat punched with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and then onto the Green Galore mat punched with the Scallop Circle Punch. For most of the cards I added Paper Piercing to each of the scallops of the circle, but I see that this particular card missed out. :)

For the sentiment banner, I stamped the 'happy birthday' sentiment from All Holidays onto a narrow strip of Whisper White card stock. Then I used the My Way (arrow) Punch to create the banner tips. This is layered onto a mat of Rose Red cardstock, again using the My Way Punch to create the banner tips. The Rose Red designer series paper is a pattern from Thoroughly Modern DSP layered onto a mat of Basic Black. I punched a row of Paper Piercing to this strip, using every two holes of my Mat Pack and added three Black Brads to the right side. Lots of Stampin' Dimensionals and the card is done.

For the inside of this card I just layered a very narrow strip of Green Galore card stock onto a mat of Basic Black and adhered this across the bottom of the inside.

Recipe:
Stamps: All Holidays, Voila!
Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Green Galore, Whisper White, Thoroughly Modern DSP
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Rose Red Classic, Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun markers
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, My Way Punch, Vintage Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer

Autumn Sympathy

Sympathy cards , I think, are the most difficult to make. Stampin' Up! does have a couple of sympathy stamp sets, yet I haven't purchased one. I really do need to get at least one of them because I find it hard to know even what words to write and I think the sentiments in those sets would be helpful.

I stamped this card using the Thumping Technique, which just means you 'thump' or color different areas of the stamp with markers. I used More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Really Rust and Chocolate Chip markers to color the wide tree from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set.

The sentiment here is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is punched out with the Curly Label Punch. The Really Rust designer series paper is from the Hostess Level I Patterns Pack III.

For the inside of this card I used a scripture stamp from Verve. I would love Stampin' Up! to carry some scripture stamps.

Recipe:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Close to Cocoa Textured, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Patterns Pack III
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic, More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip markers
Accessories: Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain, Ticket Corner Punch, Curly Label Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Day One

Here is another layout from my Scrap A Stack class this month. The title is cut from the Big Shot Bigz die called Serif Essentials Alphabet . I cute two sets of letters - one in Summer Sun and one in Whisper White. I also added some doodling on the Whisper White letters with a Bordering Blue Marker. I stamped the letters in Night of Navy ink onto the Bordering Blue base page. The decorative side tabs are punched from the Modern Label Punch.

My monthly Scrap A Stack classes are a GREAT way to jump start your scrapbooking. Some of my customers bring their photos to class and completely finish their pages. Other customers will finish their pages at home - but everyone loves the inspiration and creativity that attending Scrapbooking class brings. If you'd like to attend, or even to just get more information, check out My Events link for the class schedule.

Shimmer Paint with Re-inker

Have you tried the new Shimmer Paint from Stampin' Up? It's a new product in theHoliday Mini Catalog - a shimmery pigment ink in a bottle - and is available in three colors - Platinum (a silver opaque), Frost White (a white opaque) and Champagne (a translucent.)

For this card I dripped a few drops of Champagne Shimmer Paint onto my pallet - the plastic lid of brads container. Then I added a few drops of re-inker and mixed it with my Paper Piercer. I used a sponge dauber to add the dyed Shimmer Paint to the rubber of my images. Then stamped them onto Whisper White cardstock.

How do I take a photo of the Shimmer Paint so you can see the SHIMMER?! It's so pretty and shiny in real life and it just makes you want to touch it.

Recipe:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Smarty Pants
Cardstock: Ruby Red, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Shimmer Paint Champagne, Ruby Red Re-inker, Pumpkin Pie Re-inker, Garden Green Re-inker
Accessories: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers

The Good Life

This scrapbook page is one we did this month at my October Scrap A Stack Class. At Scrap A Stack, we create 6-12x12 scrapbook pages, ready for your photos. Some of my customers bring their photos to class and finish their pages that day, too. Other customers take their stamped pages home to add photos later. A few days before my Scrap Classes, I send out an e-mail with the Scrap Schemes for the month, so they can do a little planning for their photos.

I used a Basic Black base for this page with a Taken With Teal large mat. The Medallion imaged is stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink, as is the Outline Alphabet used for the title. I matted the main photo on a narrow mat of Tempting Turquoise and a wider mat of Whisper White. The three photos down the right side don't have mats. For the little emblem, I stamped the center of the Medallion stamp onto a scrap of Basic Black cardstock. Then I punched out the image with my 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I layered this onto a 1 3/8" Circle Punch of Whisper White. An Ice Square Rhinestone is in the center of the emblem. I used my Slot Punch to punch an opening for this beautiful Basic Black Wide Striped Ribbon. The ribbon is tied off with a piece of white kite string and attached to the page with a Stampin' Dimensional. The journaling is added just below the title with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Journaler pen which is a Pigment Ink pen, perfect for longevity on my pages.

Inspired by Nature in Crayon

This is one of the cards we made at my Stamp Camps this month. I love this Inspired by Nature set from Stampin' Up! and am SO in love with this wide striped ribbon! yummy!

To create this card, we used the Rich Regals Watercolor Wonder Crayons directly to the rubber of the stamps from Inspired by Nature. I used So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke and scribbled the crayons onto the flower and grass images. Then I used a fine mist spray bottle (an old Stampin' Mist bottle), held the stamp out away from a little and gave the crayoned stamp a little mist of water. Then stamped it onto Textured Very Vanilla cardstock for the main image. I doodle a double line border with a Chocolate Chip Marker.

For the Faux Thread on the Chocolate Chip Corduroy button I used a thin strip of So Saffron cardstock, attached with a Mini Glue Dot. I wrapped another Chocolate Chip Corduroy button, the large one with the brad legs, around the Chocolate Chip Wide Striped Ribbon for my ribbon wrap. The main image is matted onto a piece of Always Artichoke cardstock and adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the inside of my card, I repeated the steps with the Crayons onto the rubber images and misted with water.

Recipe:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Very Vanilla
Ink: none
Accessories: Rich Regals Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Chocolate Chip Wide Striped Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Corduroy Buttons, Chocolate Chip Marker, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals
