Mmmm S'Mores

Here is a sneek peek at what I'm working on right now. This yummy s'mores image is from the Under The Stars stamp set. I was playing around with ways to make the marshmallow puffy and tried a technique I saw a few weeks ago.

I stamped the S'mores image in StazOn Jet Black ink and then colored the graham cracker in Creamy Caramel and the chocolate piece in Close to Cocoa. I mixed equal parts of flour and salt and added enough water to make it about the consistency of glue. Using a toothpick, I dabbed a pretty thick amount into the center of the marshmallow image and then pushed it to the edge of the image. Finally I heated it with my Heat Gun until it puffed a little and seemed 'done' and then a little longer.

This is the beginnings of an adorable little tag for a fun S'mores pack - who doesn't love graham crackers with melted chocolate and hot gooey marshmallows!

Here's another view of it, you can see how dimensional it is - however when I cook marshmallows for s'mores - mine have lots of black on them! I like to get my char on!

Oh my goodness - this is soooo cute and I can't believe how much the marshmallow looks like a marshmallow!! (I like my marshmallows golden brown - this S'more looks perfect to me!!)
Thanks for sharing your technique - I'd never heard of this before.

Very, very cool! Good enough to eat in fact! Gotta agree with you about the char on the marshmellows though. I used to gross my husband the ex Boy Scout out by flaming my marshmellows then eating them totally black! After all isn't all life on earth Carbon based?? - LoL!
