Friends Rock

This is one of the cards we made at my September Stamp Camps. The Stampin' Up! set Friends Rock! is such a fun one with its trendy 'teen girl' style images. I have been having fun using it the past few weeks on swaps, scrapbook pages and a lot of different cards - but I keep going back to using Melon Mambo with it. I think it's the bright color that says "FUN" to me.

A few different techniques on this card make it really beautiful in real life. The sponging of Crushed Curry and then Pumpkin Pie around the edge of the Hey Friend piece give a 'finished' look, I think. Then the entire sentiment piece is pressed into the VersaMark pad, sprinkled with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat set to give it a lot of sparkle. I love the coordinating Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon! I used a small circle punch on the edge of the matted sentiment to accomodate the knotted ribbon. The sentiment piece is also adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The Melon Mambo card base is randomly stamped with images from the Friends Rock! stamp set in VersaMark Ink.

This is also the card I made for Jami's In Color Swap this month.
