Autumn Accents, Gold Foil and Expressions Thinlits

stampin up, thinlits, card

How about a gold Autumn card on this Labor Day weekend? Here's one with only background stamping and lots of Big Shot elements. The leaves are die cut with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die, then stamped with En Francais in Illuminate Pigment Ink and sponged with Soft Suede ink. I used the new Expressions Thinlits Die with our new Gold Foil cardstock to create the thankful sentiment on this card. The words are very intricately cut and so you can adhere them in a straight line, or you can curve them, like I did here.

I love the words in this Thinlits die set - merry, thankful, love (and there are more Thinlits dies to come from Stampin' Up! - yay!) The Thinlits dies have several little 'poke' holes to use a Paper Piercer to push the word out of the die. One of the tricks I've found to be helpful is to back the cardstock with our Adhesvie Sheets before running it through the Big Shot. This makes it easy to adhere after cutting and seems to help getting it out of the dies, too. Also, using a piece of wax paper on top of your cardstock helps get that thin little word out of the die. However, I found that with the Adhesive Sheet backing, I could skip the wax paper on the Gold Foil cardstock.
