Stamp Review Crew: Perfect Blend Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2013/12/stamp-review-crew-perfect-blend-edition.html
This edition of the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop features Perfect Blend, my favorite stamp set in this Stampin' Up! Catalog. I LOVE THIS STAMP SET! And if you don't already own the Perfect Blend, you're going to be wanting it by the end of this Blog Hop! (The best part about Perfect Blend, besides the image, the sentiments and the versatility - is the price!)

Today, I want to share a little Christmas gift which uses the Perfect Blend stamp set with a few Christmas sentiments and some Season of Style DSP. Do you recognize the box I used to make this gift package? It is one of the Wood Mount Cases (Half size) from Stampin' Up!

I cut a strip of the pattern paper from Season of Style DSP to fit under the outer plastic sleeve of the case. This provides a pretty liner for the inside as well as the outside of the case. Then I added a length of Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon, adhered with Sticky Strip, for the handle. For the cover, I made a very basic stamped image using the cup image from Perfect Blend and one of the sentiments from the Joy to the World stamp set, from the Holiday CatalogA strip of Baked Brown Sugar Ruffled Trim finishes off the simple cover. There are SO MANY items you can stash in these Wood Mount Cases besides stamps and accessories!

Here's the inside of this gift case. It's filled with several Perfect Blend cards and envelopes, along with a couple of sweet treats. I made the inside liner with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, cut to 4 1/2 x 6" and scored at 1/2" on each side. I miter cut the corners, folded on the score lines, and settled it right into the Wood Mount Case. Then I made a divider, again with the Baked Brown Sugar cardstock and adhered it to the liner. I filled the top section of the divided case with 4 of these Perfect Blend  3x3 cards and envelopes and added some Lindor Truffles to the bottom section.

These 3x3 cards came together quickly with some Paper Piecing, which may be my favorite way to use this stamp set. The sketched line images make it so easy to cut out, absolutely no fussy-cutting here! For these cups, I stamped and Heat Embossed several cup images, with Basic Black Craft Ink  and Basic Black Embossing Powder, onto a few different pieces of the Season of Style DSP and  some Naturals White cardstock.

After heat setting the embossing powder, I trimmed out cups, cup sleeves and cup lids, then mixed and matched patterns to create several different layered coffee cups. These cups are adhered to the 3 x 3 cards with backgrounds and mats of Baked Brown Sugar and more pieces of Season of Style DSP. This sentiment is part of one of the sentiments from More Merry Messages stamp set (a carryover set) and punched out with the Word Window Punch. I even decorated one of the cups as cup of tea, using some Bakers Twine with the sentiment as the tea bag tag.
