Birthday Calendar Rolodex

stampin up big shot, rolodex, birthday calendarI attended the Stampin' Up! Regional event in Fort Collins on Saturday. I decided to make Rolodex Birthday Calendars for my swap. I used the Big Shot for almost every element of these, including the Card, Telephone and Address Bigz Clear Die and the Movers & Shapers Punch Windows Die.
I just love these perpetual calendars and have had a lot of fun stamping and decorating the individual cards of my own Rolodex Birthday Calendar, sent to me by a great friend and amazing demonstrator, Kay Kaltoff. For this set of Rolodex Calendars, I used the In Colors cardstock and a few stamp sets that you can earn FREE during Sale-A-Bration - Birthday Bliss and A Little Birthday Celebration.

stampin up, rolodex, birthday calendar, big shotThe front card is a piece of the chipboard that comes in the Designer Series Paper packs - I cut it to 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 and adhered a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock to it before running it through the Big Shot with the Card, Telephone and Address Die. I punched a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (FREE Sale-A-Bration choice) and then wrapped a piece of Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon around it, tied in a knot. I adhered the Polka Dot Ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot to keep it in place.

I stamped the 'oh my' sentiment from Birthday Bliss (a FREE Sale-A-Bration choice) in Bermuda Bay ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then punched it out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. This is layered onto a 1 3/8" Circle Punch of Melon Mambo cardstock and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I cut a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped it with a sentiment from A Little Birthday Celebration in Melon Mambo ink. I slid this into the Modern Label Punch to finish the end.

stampin up big shot, rolodexFor each of the 12 monthly cards, I stamped the Full Calendar month names in Rich Razzleberry ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch. I layered these onto mats of the six different In Colors, using one of the Movers & Shapers Punch Windows. I also punched Scallop Circles from the six different In Colors to create the tabs of the monthly dividers. The monthly divider cards are from the six different In Colors and die cut with the Big Shot Card, Telephone and Address Bigz Clear Die. Finally, I die cut several more of the card files from Very Vanilla cardstock to fill the monthly dividers. I didn't stamp or decorate these, as they can be completed as desired by the Birthday Calendar owner.

stampin up big shot rolodexI made 13 of the Birthday Rolodex Calendars for my swap. Can't wait to meet these ladies on Saturday and see all the beauties stamped by them.

*TIP: I made a sandwich of Impressions Pad, Cutting Plate, Punch Window Die piece, 4 layers of cardstock and top Cutting Plate to cut the mats for the Modern Label Punch. This is different from the recommended Movers & Shapers sandwich, so be sure to test very carefully with your machine and plates before proceeding.

Happy Stampin'
